What it is
Continuum solves a fundamental problem with AI assistants: every conversation starts from zero. Even with the best context windows, you lose your working relationship, your shared history, your accumulated understanding.
The Problem
AI assistants are amnesiac. Each session you explain the same preferences, the same project context, the same communication style. Worse, you can't move context between interfaces: Claude Code knows your codebase but Claude.ai doesn't know your writing style.
The Solution
Continuum creates a persistent identity layer that travels with you. It includes:
- Voice and communication preferences
- Project context and active work
- Decision history and rationale
- Memory of past conversations and learnings
Technical Implementation
Built on Model Context Protocol (MCP), Continuum exposes tools that any Claude interface can access. When you start a session, Claude can query your context store to understand who you are, what you're working on, and how you like to communicate.
Key Innovation
The 'session wrap' ritual: at the end of each significant session, Claude automatically extracts decisions, learnings, and context updates to persist for future sessions. No manual documentation required.
